Lando Norris has won the Hungarian Grand Prix after holding off a thrilling late-race challenge for the lead from McLaren team mate Oscar Piastri, the Briton having made an alternative strategy work in his favour to take victory.

Polesitter Charles Leclerc had made a strong start to hold P1 when the race got underway, allowing the Ferrari driver to build up a steady lead over Piastri in P2 during the opening stages of the race – a position he maintained amid the first round of pit stops, despite Piastri’s attempt to undercut his rival.  –read more

Lewis Hamilton doubled down on self-critical comments he made on Saturday after a poor finish at the Hungarian Grand Prix on Sunday.

The seven-time world champion called himself “useless” and suggested Ferrari might need to change drivers after qualifying in 12th position at the Hungaroring, with teammate Charles Leclerc qualifying on pole.

“It’s me every time. I’m useless, absolutely useless,” Hamilton told Sky Sports. “The team have no problem. You’ve seen the car’s on pole. So they probably need to change driver.”  read more

After drops of rain in Q2, and with track conditions appearing to fall away, Leclerc produced a stunning time of 1m 15.372s on his final Q3 lap to overhaul previous session leaders Piastri and Norris by a matter of thousandths.  read more

Microsoft became the second company to reach a $4 trillion market valuation on Thursday, after its blockbuster earnings report on Wednesday night boosted the tech giant’s shares.

Microsoft’s shares (MSFT) jumped nearly 4.5% after the market opened on Thursday, pushing its intraday valuation to $4.01 trillion. The company’s shares have risen roughly 28% since the start of this year.

The milestone comes just a year and a half after Microsoft reached a $3 trillion valuation. The company first cracked the $1 trillion mark in April 2019. It follows Nvidia into the $4 trillion valuation club, which hit the mark earlier this month.  read more

New York — President Donald Trump met at the White House last week with a powerful business leader he’s repeatedly clashed with in the past: JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon.

During the Oval Office meeting, Trump and Dimon discussed the economy, trade, financial regulation and the Federal Reserve, a person familiar with the matter told CNN.

The meeting, first reported by The Wall Street Journal, follows years of tensions between two of the most powerful people on the planet. According to the Journal, Dimon and Trump have met twice in the past two months, and the meeting last week included Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick.  read more

The final race before F1’s traditional summer break comes from Budapest in Hungary, and Pirelli have now confirmed which tyre compounds they are giving the teams to work with.

For the Hungaroring, the Italian tyre manufacturer have opted to bring the C3, C4 and C5 compounds, an allocation that is one step softer for the mediums and softs that the teams had last time out in Belgium, whilst the hard compound is two steps softer.

The dominant performance on Tuesday marked Ledecky’s 22nd gold medal at the World Aquatics Championships and took her overall tally to 28 medals.

After a fast start, the nine-time Olympic champion was projected to finish ahead of her own world record set in 2018 before closing in 15:26.44 – six seconds outside her best-ever time.  read more
